Play Time at the Children’s Museum Free Arts Day

105 children from foster care group homes and our school partners recently enjoyed Play Time at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix. Children ages 3-10 were buddied with Free Arts volunteers and volunteers from 12 corporate groups. Every volunteer greeted their assigned buddy with a friendship bracelet the volunteer made using pony beads and pipe cleaners. Together they explored the museum’s hands-on interactive exhibits that encourage children to use their creative imagination. The day finished with the volunteers and their buddies enjoying lunch together.

“I spoke with a boy about his project in the art room.  He took a minute to feel comfortable, once he did he talked with me for 20 minutes!  Trust built!”
