Dear Free Arts Community,
We wanted to let you know about recent changes to our Free Arts staff.
We are saying “goodbye” to:
Amber Rivera, Development Coordinator, left Free Arts to take on a new opportunity with PSA Art Awakenings. Amber will work with their adult clients and teach them skills related to marketing themselves as artists.
Angela Palmer, Marketing Manager, will be leaving the Free Arts development team on June 16th to run an art gallery in Sedona. Angela has been on staff for over a year and has been helping us for over three years with our marketing efforts. Free Arts now looks and sounds better because of her. About her Free Arts experience, Angela says, “My time here has been extremely formative. I never would have guessed that my career would take me in this new direction and none of it would be possible without Free Arts and the support of the staff and community. I am excited to stay associated with Free Arts and see where they are headed in the years to come.”
Teresa Shannon, Volunteer Coordinator, will be leaving the Free Arts program team this summer to pursue new adventures in Flagstaff. Teresa has been a part of our team for just over a year and has helped usher many of you into our organization. She will be with us through our camp series this summer so please feel free to stop by one of the camps to say “goodbye.” Teresa says about her time at Free Arts, “This year at Free Arts has been such a rewarding experience for me and one of indescribable growth. It has been an honor to be part of this community, one that has such passion for helping the most vulnerable among us.”

We are saying “hello” to:
Audrey Boyle, our new Administrative Assistant, comes to us from the Phoenix Public Library where she worked as their system wide volunteer coordinator. Prior to her employment with the Library, she worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA member as part of HandsOn Greater Phoenix. Audrey has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art from Appalachian State University.
Steve Conrad, our new Development Administrator, has an extensive background in fundraising and grant writing. He has held development positions with the Lodestar Day Resource Center (Homeless Services) and Free Arts’ partner New Life Center (Treatment Center and Therapeutic Group Home Provider). Steve has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from NAU and a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies from ASU.
Both Audrey and Steve were previously connected to Free Arts. Audrey came through our volunteer training process about a year ago and volunteered at the Storybook Ballet. Steve was our dance teaching artist at MAC Camp last year and is a well-known swing dance instructor in town. We are thrilled to have them both on board!
