Free Arts and StoryCorp
Free Arts was recently invited to participate with National Public Radio in their StoryCorps project. StoryCorps is a series of recorded conversations between friends or loved-ones that are about unique memories, beloved stories and about their close connections. Many of the conversations are aired on NPR and all are stored at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
StoryCorp is… a conversation. StoryCorps creates a unique opportunity for human connection. At StoryCorp, we believe that listening is a act of love. StoryCorps tells people they matter and they won’t be forgotten. The interviews can have a transformative impact on participates, who often begin conversations with friends and loved ones that continue long after the microphone is turned off.
Every Voice Counts StoryCorps believes there is room for every voice in history. We work hard to tell the American story from the ‘bottom up’ and place a special emphasis on disadvantaged communities to capture the wisdom of those whose stories are so often forgotten.
