2017 Art from the Heart Art Auction

WHEN: Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 3:30pm- 8:00pm

WHERE: Saks Fifth Avenue, 2502 E. Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016

PARKING: Self-parking available

THE PLAN: Volunteers will walk around the event with iPads and help guests with the electronic bidding process.

Volunteers need to wear black bottoms and comfortable shoes. T-shirt, snacks, and water will be provided.

Mission: Education- Mindfulness

Join us for an evening with local artist, mindfulness expert, and Free Arts Mentor Cheryl Sosnowski as she leads us through the practice of being present in our lives, in our work, and with our families.

Mission: Art- Watercolor Basics

Join us for an evening with local artist and teacher Koryn Woodward Wasson as she shares her love of watercolor with the Free Arts community. In this class we will explore the basics of watercolor and how to bring this beautiful skill to the children we serve.  All supplies will be provided.

Free Arts is partnering with Phonetic Spit and Mesa Art Center’s Project Lit for a one of a kind Free Arts Day, Unity Day. Volunteers will support children as they participate in the following workshops:
• AZ Beat Lab (Music production)
• George Yamazawa (Hot 16 – Hip Hop)
• Visual Arts
• Theatre for Social Change – The Art of Resistance
• Movement
Please wear your Free Arts shirt. Dinner will be provided.

Please join us for an interactive experience celebrating school-wide leadership. Become fully immersed in Children First Leadership Academy’s Leader in Me initiative and learn more about their creative partnership with Free Arts. The day will include:

Students creatively sharing their leadership experiences
An interactive tour of campus 
A panel discussion on leadership with teachers, students, and administrators 
Pancake breakfast for all attendees!

Spring Professional Artist Series

NEW! The Sound of Nature

Join new teaching artist Lauren and Damien as they introduce 6th grade students at Children First Leadership Academy (CFLA) to the fundamentals of sound by exploring, recording, and synthesizing sound found in nature. 

Volunteers should be available for at least 4 sessions. Please wear your Free Arts T-shirt

Poetry with Sean

Join spoken word artist Sean Medlin at the Mesa Art Center starting on March 18th. This Professional Artist Series will culminate in a performance at the Unity Festival on April 8, 2017. The participants will generate solo and group spoken word pieces and possibly compete in the Louder Than A Bomb competition.

WHEN: To accommodate the schedule of the children participating, we will be meeting:
